Bargaining Unit Position
As a member of the Warden Woods Community Centre staff team, the Coordinator of “Health Boost- A Community-based Health Enrichment programme:
Promote programme healthy eating, nutrition and exercise.
Provide disease prevention awareness information in Southwest Scarborough to improved health and well-being of populations
Arrange access to Flu shots
Reports to : Manager, Health Outreach Programmes
Program Area : Health and Recreation Services
Service Delivery and Development 90%
Program Management 40%
Develop, plan and implement Health Boost Programme
Outreach to the communities residing in and around Oakridge Neighbourhood
Liaise with the local physicians and health care providers to arrange the Flu Clinics in the designated locations, including TCH buildings
Plan and offer workshop on Health-related topics
Network with other service providers and partners
Ensure that monthly statistical data is collected and submitted.
Adhere to the Centre’s policy and procedures.
Process, approve and monitor all program cheque requisitions.
Monitor monthly program budgets.
Process monthly billing for the Health Boost program.
Agency Participation (min) 5%
Promotes WWCC values and mission in a positive manner
Maintains good working relationships with co-workers and volunteers.
Attends meetings and participates in agency-wide fundraising and community outreach initiatives participate in special events and/or a committee of the Centre (For example, Christmas Day Meals on Wheels)
External Relationships 5%
Attend external meetings as required and approved by the Centre
Required Skills and Experience
Food and nutrition management, or equivalent experience.
Experience working in an office environment. Preference will be given to those with experience delivering community support services.
Specialized Training or experience related to job (i.e. Food Prep, Nutrition, Menu Planning etc.)
Competent communication skills (English; Oral & Written) and a commitment to training & skills development
Computer skills in programs such as Microsoft word, Excel, and Databases.
Working knowledge of CIMS is an asset.
Valid “G” driver’s license in good standing, an asset. Driver’s abstract required.
Be familiar with emergency procedures
Ability to work in diverse environments within an anti-oppression, client-centred framework
Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by program or agency activities (from time to time as required)
Food handling certificates an asset.
