We’re looking for a Sr. Art Director with digital, direct marketing, and CRM experience to lead and grow our new global client in the Canadian market. You’ll partner closely with senior leadership to help manage and lead cross-agency integrated programs to deliver great work.
The candidate shares responsibility for the health of the client relationship. A dynamic leader, with digital depth, the Sr. Art Director assesses client’s needs, develops and executes solutions which helps our client to grow their business and gain market share. The candidate helps to lead from creative development to solution delivery, and is also able to help lead the cross-functional agency team to ensure solutions are on strategy, meet standards and meet client expectations. Well versed in an integrated agency setting, the Sr. Art Director is also focused on building strong relationships with the family of agencies that serve the client and harnessing that power to benefit both agency and client needs. Finally, the Sr. Art Director also supervises tand mentors junior team members.
The Sr. Art Director strives to find unique and compelling ideas, is an effective presenter and has a strong grasp of the latest trends and technologies. Your portfolio will include a breadth of work, showcasing your POV, fit with client strategy and innovation. Previous experience with automotive clients will be considered an asset. Here's an example of what you would be responsible for, but it isn't limited to just this!
Along with the assigned Sr. Copywriter, meets with the VP, Creative Director and the Account Services team to discuss and clarify the direction of creative development against the creative strategy and client brief;
Develop strategically relevant creative solutions based on the information gathered from all documents including the creative brief, team members, and the VP, Creative Director;
Develop concepts which includes a complete selling message without extraneous embellishments;
Present concepts to the VP, Creative Director to ensure all creative meets the client’s needs and Wunderman’s creative standards;
Presents concepts to the account team and client for discussion and approval, ensuring all details are included in the copy at presentation;
Collaborate fully with the assigned Sr. Copywriter and all members of the Creative, Account and Production team;
Apprise the VP, Creative Director of progress as warranted;
Regularly attends briefs, product group meetings, status meetings, client meetings, production meetings, and presentations where appropriate;
Mentors and guides junior members of the creative team;
Other duties as assigned
Degree or diploma in a related discipline.
Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience as an Art Director in an agency, or creative environment.
Experience with automotive a definite asset.
Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Flexibility to work within the realities of the advertising industry.
Action and detail-oriented skills.
Strong problem solving skills and is solutions oriented.
Ability to work independently, but report into a team.
