Salary: Industry competitive wage. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

Shifts: Hours may vary initially as the candidate learns all the roles and departments in the bakery. Afterwards a regular day-time schedule will be established.

Education: Management or culinary training would be seen as an asset.

Experience: Experience managing a bakery or other food manufacturing facility would be highly beneficial.

  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to solve problems independently.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to bridge Baking, Packing, Delivery and Administration departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Foster an environment of mutual respect, cooperation and teamwork among all the employees at the bakery.
  • Deal with customer issues in cooperation with the office manager and with customers directly on the phone and by email.
  • Oversee various office duties as required including production reports and upkeep of standing orders and delivery routes.
  • Ensure samples for new customers are properly guided through the bakery process from order to delivery.
  • Manage the day to day activities of the bakery including scheduling and problem-solving issues that cross over departments.
  • Identify maintenance issues to the owners and ensure resources are allocated effectively and in a timely manner as necessary
  • Oversee daily inventory processes such as organization of the walk-in freezer and cooler including coordination with packing, baking and administration staff on already made products and products requiring replenishment.
  • Ensure ingredient and packaging deliveries from various suppliers are accurate, checked in and are put away in their appropriate place in the bakery.
