Responsibilities:

  • Professionally represent the Tennis Club via telephone, correspondence, emails, internet inquiries, and in person to students, staff, and the public.
  • Assist in the various office functions related to receiving club memberships, organizing event days, and tennis team event registrations.
  • Lead in weekly staff meetings during the spring and summer staffing season.
  • Process all grant applications, financials, bookkeeping, HST and tax related information, maintaining a neat and well organized filing system with accurate records. Keep appropriate documents under fire-safe lock.
  • Provide support to summer staff with regards to weekly working schedules and monthly goals and contacts and prepare reports to the club President on a regular basis as requested.
  • Maintain a social media and e-mail communication, face book account to promote club interests. Update TNB on a necessary basis. Club registration, etc.
  • Participate in planning and aid in preparations for all summer tennis programs.
  • Provide assistance with maintaining a clean and well organized clubhouse and court area.
  • Set an example by having a positive attitude with members of the staff, students, and the public.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of integrity, personally contributing to the growth and development of students and staff, in sport and character.
  • Assist in all other matters as needed or requested which pertain to the most effective operation and highest standard of excellence for the Sussex Tennis Club.

Formal Training & Experience:

1. Positive work references indicating performance of qualifications outlined below.

2. Preference given to those with experience in management and supervisory functions.

3. Preference given to those with broad exposure and knowledge of the local community.

4. Previous experience with sport management functions is preferred.

Professional:

1. Professional verbal skills and overall standard of excellence in all aspects of administrative work.

2. Executive assistant level skills and experience including self-motivation, goal accomplishment, work prioritization, and creative problem resolution.

3. Basic knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.

4. Competency and experience in computer skills including word-processing, spreadsheets, and social media.

5. Handle information with accuracy and confidentially with appropriate respect for sensitive nature of personal and financial records.

6. Present professionally and handle stressful situations with courtesy.

General Information:

Sussex Tennis Club is owned by the Town of Sussex and operated by The Sussex Tennis Board. The mission is to promote the sport of tennis, develop young athletes and leaders, and provide a high quality recreational experience for Sussex and area residents.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 /hour
