TD Architecture & Engineering covers TD's overall technology strategy, direction and standards for designing and/or developing an architecture framework. This includes technology architecture strategy, policies, guiding principles and standards to govern how technology solutions will be developed and implemented across the organization. Architects typically develop and maintain any combination of the following: solution and application architecture, infrastructure environment architecture, technical integration architecture, data strategies and models, security and enterprise architecture. There's room to grow in all of it.
Specifically, the successful candidate will provide technology architecture leadership and guidance relevant to the organization's strategic use and consumption of our data & analytics ecosystem:
Big Data Technologies (Akora/Hadoop), Data Integration, Business Integration, Reporting, Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Quality, Metadata and Reference Data Management, Operational Data Stores, Traditional RDBMSes, NoSQL, Data Warehouse Technologies and Cloud Data Platforms as well as other significant estates of enterprise information management.
We deliver this exciting work by teaming up with other TD Technology and business partners to ensure our mission-critical systems are connected, safe and available 24/7, for our customers, anywhere they need them.

As Associate Vice President, Architecture & Engineering, Enterprise Data Architecture – Information Management Technologies, Platforms and Cloud Data reporting to the VP Architecture & Engineering for Data and Corporate Systems Architecture, you will be prepared for extensive visibility with TD's senior leaders as you serve as a highly influential and entrepreneurial champion within our intertwined business and technology domains. Your sphere of ownership and influence includes:
The architectural integrity and strategic alignment of all solutions within the Enterprise Data & Analytics portfolio along with broader information management systems across TD
Architectural advisor for the CIO accountable for the Bank's data platforms as well as segment technology leaders to further their application roadmaps and strategy as it relates to data & analytics.
Educating and coaching segment delivery teams, solution architects and solution designers on the strategic use of data and analytics assets in their data-driven solutions.
Consulting on various segment technology blueprints that leverage strategic data and analytics assets.
Participating in and/or leading significant forums, steering committees such as Architecture Review Boards or Segment Challenge sessions as it relates to data & analytics and enterprise information management systems.

What do you bring as an Associate Vice President, Architecture & Engineering, Enterprise Data Architecture – Information Management Technologies, Platforms and Cloud Data? Here's some of what we're looking for:

Education/Experience:
Education required in mathematics / computer science, statistics or business with a minimum of 10-15 years of experience.
Demonstrated experience leading technology operational groups, and delivering complex solutions leveraging industry standards
Notable history leading transformational change that are very large, highly complex, and have a significant degree of organizational impact, on both the business and technology fronts.
Experience reporting to and communicating with senior executive stakeholders (e.g., VP, SVP, EVP).
Demonstrated experience in establishing and implementing technology architecture strategy in alignment with business direction, including technology costing, delivery and operational implications.

Knowledge and Subject-Matter Expertise:
Knowledge of developing and delivering a technical data strategy, supporting roadmap, and investment plans
Run IT like a business, as you ensure employee engagement, communications, talent development and management activities are performed
Influence vision, strategy and priorities for in alignment with business direction, and Enterprise Technology objectives
Knowledge and experience with some of Big Data Technologies (Hadoop), Data Integration, Business Integration, Reporting, Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Quality, Metadata and Reference Data Management, Operational Data Stores, Traditional RDBMSes, NoSQL and Data Warehouse Technologies as well as other significant estates of enterprise information management at TD.
Knowledge of cloud-based data & analytics services; bonus if you have real-world experience with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure data & analytics capabilities.
Ability to construct architectural roadmaps, strategic technology plans and directions as it relates to data & analytics.
