We are seeking to fill the role of a Life Insurance & Investment Coordinator to join our team in our Vancouver office. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and processing various transactions on client accounts relating to life insurance, critical illness, disability, annuities, segregated funds and mutual funds in an accurate and timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Life Insurance

  • Processing of new business applications for life insurance products; arrangement of medical and financial evidence supporting the underwriting process
  • Completion of all pending business to placement of policy which includes following-up with insurance companies/underwriting providers to ensure a prompt completion of the file
  • Creating delivery packages and ensuring any policy replacements are handled appropriately
  • Keeping VirtGate underwriting data up-to-date for weekly advisor reports
  • Pro-active policy service for annual renewals or special requests (e.g. annual post-dated cheques, wire transfers, charitable donation receipts; year-end values)
  • Creating and distributing monthly insurance anniversary listings for agents; reviewing same and identifying potential business opportunities
  • Running insurance quotes using Life Guide or insurance proprietary software; creating a premium summary if requested by the advisor
  • On-going policy service for life insurance clients (e.g. title changes, banking or address changes)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Investments

  • Processing of new business applications for investment products; setting up new accounts for GIC’s, annuities, segregated funds and mutual funds (using MFDA platform)
  • Processing deposits of client cheques and transfer of cheques
  • Processing funds switches, withdrawals, PAC and SWP changes
  • Upon completion of money transactions, match confirmation notices and organize file
  • Create and distribute monthly GIC maturity listings for agents
  • On-going policy service for investments clients
  • Knowledge of the required CRA forms for processing different types of registered transfers and knowledge of other required supporting documents
  • Scan file into VirtGate and keep data and correspondence up-to-date

Additional Responsibilities -

  • Using our main database platforms (VirtGate, Maximizer and Univeris)
  • Providing exceptional day-to-day client servicing, including policy services issues or other questions as they arise
  • Develop and maintain exceptional working relationships with insurance and fund companies/underwriting providers
  • Producing and sending investment statements and insurance summaries to clients
  • Ensuring all correspondence is scanned/uploaded to VirtGate to keep records current
  • Keeping track of advisor appointments to provide current policy updates or forms for each meeting
  • Preparation of correspondence for yourself and on behalf of the advisors
  • Special projects or other duties as required by advisors or department

QUALIFICATIONS -

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in processing life insurance and investment applications
  • Working with a team of advisors
  • Must possess LLQP Life Insurance license (or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment start date)
  • Working knowledge of processing mutual funds (MFDA or IIROC)
  • Mutual fund licensing (asset)
  • Advanced skills in Outlook, Word, Excel and internet research
  • Working knowledge of VirtGate and Maximizer (asset)
  • Excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Enjoys a fast-paced challenging environment
  • Team player who is also able to work independently
  • Ability to work well with others throughout the organization
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
