The Financial Institutions Commission (“FICOM”) regulates the pension and financial services industries in British Columbia. This regulation is designed to protect the public against the insolvency of financial institutions, prevent improper market conduct in the financial services sector, provide deposit insurance for members of B.C. credit unions and ensure the solvency of pension funds .

The Intake Administrator reviews and validates incoming submissions and clarifies regulatory requirements with regulated financial institutions. The Intake Administrator also makes recommendations using established criteria and requirements.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent; undergraduate degree is preferred.

  • At least two years’ of experience working in an office setting, preferably in a regulatory or licensing environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in word processing, data entry and data management.

  • Experience with compiling statistical and summary reports.

  • Experience with providing information to a variety of stakeholders including referral to other regulatory or industry organizations.

  • Experience with applying legislation and regulations.
