The Ajax Loblaw Distribution Center has an opening for an Inventory Control Supervisor, Warehouse Operations. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivating and energetic individual, who enjoys the challenges of working in a high potential, fast-paced environment with frequent workload changes and competing demands.
This individual will lead the Inventory Control team, overseeing the day to day execution of the Inventory Control duties by the local Inventory Control teams. This would include, but not limited to; article maintenance, recall and disposal of product, layout alignment, auditing of orders for accuracy, validating the accuracy of inventory and slots and capacity. As well as, promoting a safe and compliant working condition and always exhibiting the principles of our Core Values
Responsible for the maintenance of each article by identifying and resolving inaccurate data
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; scheduling, planning, assigning, and directing work; and appraising performance
Ensures the integrity of the flow of each Article
Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy on a daily basis to minimize rework through cycle counts, management of the T-zone, validation of empty locations and location validations.
Provide warehouse operations on breakdowns within the operational processes
Works with the regional/site Layout/Promo lead on aligning the DC for the appropriate promotional articles and layout efficiencies
Accountable for ensuring equitable pallet auditing processes occur on a regular basis
Ensures the IC team adheres to the strict guidelines for food safety and recalls.
Supervises all inventory control personnel to achieve objectives relating to inventory control management
Depicts root causes for store credit errors and resolving all discrepancies
Work with POD colleague to determine any on site investigation requirements
Responsible for the appropriate removal of inventory when necessary
Provides details regarding discrepancies in inventory to support the financial inventory gains and losses.
Ensures compliance of Health Safety, Environmental, Loss Prevention policies as well as the expectations of the Collective Agreement
Must maintain a superior employee record
Post-secondary training and/or certification is considered an asset
Highly effective communication and leadership skills is required
Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to schedule own tasks and handle all facets of assigned projects independently
Demonstrates a positive attitude that sets an example for the team as well as a strong customer focus
Must model standardized processes and continuous improvement
Education and Experience Requirements:
Post-secondary education preferred
3-5 years superior management experience in a distribution/warehouse setting
