Multiple and Complex Needs Team
Your role as a Community Living Counsellor on a newly appointed Multiple and Complex Needs team will be providing support and actively engaging a supported individual with complex needs to live a fulfilling and increasingly independent life. Working 1:1 with this individual, each team member is comfortable working individuals with varying and complex needs while working together on a collaborative and creative support approach with a common goal and purpose.
About the Role
You are a motivated and outgoing person with a passion for person-centered supports. This means you will be working with a team to support an individual to discover more of their community, learn new life-skills, and more. Your duties can include:
Providing individuals support with various life goals
Home support duties (including, but not limited to personal care, bathing, bathroom support, meal preparation and light housekeeping)
Community outings (including, but not limited to volunteering, paid employment and leisure activities)
Maintaining records of daily activities and goal progression
Supporting the development of creative support strategies
This specific role will involve in depth on the job training and classroom based instruction sessions as identified. CLS is committed to ensuring the Multiple and Complex Needs team is fully trained and comfortable working with varying and complex needs individuals.
As a seasoned support worker, you are comfortable in a variety of settings and eager to learn and develop. You are interested in supporting others and show an understanding of the person-centered and active support approach. Additionally, you have the following requirements:
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Clear criminal record (paid by CLS)
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Knowledge of Person Centered Active Supports
- Class 5 driver's license with access to a vehicle
- Prior paid or volunteer experience
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training
- Mandt System®

Monday 9AM-3PM ; Monday 9PM-8AM Tuesday (asleep overnight); Tuesday 9PM - 3PM Wednesday (asleep overnight); Thursday 9AM-3PM; Friday 9AM-3PM
Starting at $19.75 + $1.00 premium per hour ($20.75 total). Current employees will receive a $1.00 premium on top of their current hourly rate.
