Job Summary

Tremco Canada is seeking an incumbent to cover a maternity leave for a period of 12+ months. In conjunction with a Payroll Assistant, the incumbent will primarily be responsible for processing salary and hourly payrolls for approximately 600 employees. The incumbent will ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, in compliance with applicable legislation. The incumbent works with finance to allocate all earnings and ensures all payments and reporting is completed on time.

Major Responsibilities:
Process payrolls accurately, on time and in compliance with legislation:

Process time worked in combination with Time and Attendance system (for both hourly and salary payrolls) and adjust entries to employees pay; ensure deadlines are met and ensure all deductions are taken.
Audit payroll records before and after remittance.
Verify remittances (Federal and Provincial taxes, Canada Pension Plan, Employment Insurance, Quebec Pension Plan, Quebec Parental Insurance Plan, Employer Health taxes, Quebec Medical taxes).
Produce Records of Employment, T4’s ,T4A’s relevé 1’s T2200’s.
Yearend audit of all annual payroll records for earning reporting from payroll provider.

Comply with Provincial Workplace safety requirements:
Pay and report all assessable earnings for employees by Province and work rates.
Coordinate with other RPM companies to maintain WCB records to allow all RPM companies and Tremco divisions to provide clearance and WCB records to customers.

Provide Financial payroll information:
Ensure journal entries for financial records are allocated accurately in SAP.
Work with division controllers to audit payroll allocation to balance salary and wages records.
Month end reporting to HR on benefits and deductions.
Month end reporting for wire transfers to outside vendors on pension and MSP deductions.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience processing hourly and salary payrolls is required.
Completion of the CPM (Canadian Payroll Management) designation.
Completion of Payroll Compliance Training, preferably with the CPA.
Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration or equivalent work experience required.
Proficient with Microsoft office applications; experience using a Dayforce Platform and SAP is preferred.
Consistently applies diplomacy and courtesy when dealing with all internal and external clients.
Handles all matters with a high degree of discretion and professionalism.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels.
Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset.
