Position Summary

Position Summary:
The SES Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for the development & execution of sales strategies for Samsung Experience Stores. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders the BDM will manage all pricing and promotion activities along with key product launch initiatives. This includes working with all sales divisions, marketing, e-store, sales planning and the SES store operator. In addition, the BDM monitors KPI’s including post-mortem analysis and reports. The BDM is also responsible for external business & sales related communications related to business term negotiation, contracts, and approvals.

Role and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Planning

Develop short-term and long-term strategies and plans (product, promotion & offers) to maximize SES sales
Collaborate with performance marketing, strategy & planning, operations and customer experience, division sales teams to build tactical product and promotion plans
Data management and reporting on daily, weekly and monthly sales insights
Develop monthly sales forecast by working with different account managers and SCMs
Ensure all forecasts are reported and reflected in the system on-time
Ad-hoc and regular reports to the executives on key plans and results (Product launch, key promotions, major holidays, etc.)

Sales initiatives

Generate creative and unique promotion & offers for SES based on market research and competitive analytics
Gather all information and requirements regarding all sales initiatives (ie. Product launch, promotion, key sell-out platforms, etc.) then provide timely communications to the store operator & SCM teams
Define plan and target for all initiatives then measure the effectiveness and ROI
Obtain alignments & internal approvals on key activities & processes with all related divisions (sales divisions, finance, service, etc.)
Lead internal projects (and activities) tracking, reporting and weekly meetings
Manage sales program execution across Marketing, Sales, PM & store operator
Grow category sales (IM/CE) including financing, carrier, warrantee and services revenue
Oversight of SES sell-out forecast, SCM, CPFR, and CMF process

Vendor Management

Manage business relationships with external partners (Operator, various Service providers)
Manage business negotiations and all contract related matters
Conduct regular business reviews with internal and external teams to identify opportunities and co-develop solutions to drive operational success
Work with SES Marketing team to develop communication materials
Lead regular meetings with internal stakeholders

Knowledge/Experience/Competencies/Education:
Bachelor’s degree/College Diploma or related experience
5-7 years retail experience in the wireless industry
Experience in DTC, B2B sales, strategy & planning, product management
Thorough understanding of product and promotion cycle
Demonstrated people management skills
Strong analytical skills and competency using Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Possess exceptional organizational & planning skills including attention to detail
Highly developed communication & interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and interact comfortably with a wide range of levels in the organization: from senior executives to support staff within and outside of the company.
Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
Proven ability to function effectively in a team environment.
Ability to travel overseas, across Canada
Able to work extended hours and weekends when required

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experienced professional with full understanding on specialized areas; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analyzing data requires evaluating identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments
  • Typically requires minimum 5 years' of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience
