Under the general direction of the Senior Research Assistant, Research Associate, Faculty member, or other lead researcher, this position will assist College researchers on applied research projects. This position is responsible for assisting with any aspects of a research project, as required.
Establishment and maintenance of research projects
Assist with prototype and project design
Technology operation and maintenance
Data and sample collection
Data entry and preparation for analysis
Basic data analysis
Assist with technical report writing
Developing poster presentations and other multi-media research presentations
Hosting College research displays at conferences
Driving College research vehicles
Use required equipment for research (e.g., GPS units, computers)
You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities.
You will promote a positive work atmosphere, communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect for students and colleagues.
Other related duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
Successful completion of the first year of a post-secondary program specific to the research project, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Class V or higher valid drivers license preferred (must provide a driver’s abstract and license)
Basic knowledge of equipment and software required for the research project (e.g., GPS technology)
Experience using office software as required, such as Excel, Word and/or PowerPoint.
Good knowledge of safety procedures
Good interpersonal skills
May require ability to work in demanding outdoor environment
