Our Place Society (OPS) is a non-profit, charitable organization with Christian values and principles. We work as a team to create a nurturing atmosphere of home and family, where all are welcomed. A team approach is critical to living out our mission and values and to directing our work.

The Background and Opportunity:

Our Place Society’s Next Steps to Employment Program was launched two years ago and now supports over one hundred people who are in various stages of readiness for employment. The Employment Program helps unemployed British Columbians experiencing homelessness and marginalization in Greater Victoria to train for, secure and maintain work. It specifically focuses on and supports the “hardest to employ” including participants from current OPS programs. Participants have the opportunity to access Pre-employment/Life Skills and Employability Skills Sessions and Occupation Specific Training to give every opportunity for success. Participants are supported both in the program and up to a year into employment.
