Salary role: $55K

Reports To
Head of Cultivation Quality

Reporting to the Head of Cultivation Quality, the IPM Team Lead is responsible for leading their team to success as they carry out the prevention and eradication of pests through bio application and use of approved pesticides. The IPM Team Lead must adhere to our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work to ensure duties are completed according to the Production Schedule. The IPM Team Lead is also responsible for training and mentoring new and senior staff.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Spraying crops for control and prevention of pests
  • Preparing and mixing pest control products
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to create and execute the spay schedule
  • Cleaning and maintaining spray equipment
  • Aiding in the release of biological pest control measures
  • Maintaining compliance with all Health Canada’s policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Communicate schedules and updates to stakeholders throughout the company
  • Keeping up to date on best practices for use of biological controls and Health Canada’s approved pesticides
  • Look for areas of improvement and make recommendations when needed
  • Train and mentor new and existing IPM team members
  • Approve staff timecards, staying on top of discrepancies and absences
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Horticulture diploma, or equivalent, with focus on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) considered an asset
  • Pest Control Applicators License, or ability to obtain within three months, considered an asset
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively using all communication vehicles
  • Experience managing a team
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
Preference will be given to those with experience in the cannabis industry.

Working Conditions
This role requires a company-provided uniform and additional Personal Protective Equipment to be worn at all times, including a respirator.
