You will play a key role in coordinating and implementing training events for technology training offerings and to serve as support to Autonomous and Minestar deployments. The primary function of this position is to provide training and ongoing technical support to Finning Heavy Equipment Technicians and customers. This role will also provide ongoing mentoring to Finning Heavy Equipment Technicians’ installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of both the software and hardware components of technologies included in the Caterpillar MineStar Suite of Products.

Job Description:Major Job Functions:
Responsible for all training logistics for technology training products (including but not limited to securing room, instructors, materials, administration of evaluations and assessments)
Responsible for collection and evaluation of demand and sales forecast to determine training requirements
Develop training paths for the onboarding of new technicians that will be working on Autonomous Projects
Develop Competency Framework for assessing the skills of the workforce to ensure gaps are identified and training plans developed to close gaps
Monitoring and reporting training metrics
Administer and manage training materials relating to the MineStar Suite. Including updates from Caterpillar on changes in the product or training delivery
Selects and purchase materials, services and evaluation methods to assure training needs are satisfied
Responsible for global quality assurance and standard work processes
Finning and Customer product training – Identify customer training requirements to develop and deliver tailored product training to end-users and customers and internal users
Collaboration with Caterpillar MineStar Training department to ensure consistent in the development and delivery of training
Sales demonstrations – Partner with technology sales team to identify customer product needs
Plan and deliver demonstrations of product capabilities relating to customers’ requirements
Internal mentoring and training – Provide product and process training to Finning Heavy Equipment Technicians supporting MineStar
Develop training to support troubleshooting steps and ensure Technicians can rectify issues in the field in a timely manner
Report back on product failure trends and serviceability issues

Knowledge of, and operating skill in, technology products software and their applications
Detailed knowledge of surveying and civil construction or mining operation and engineering including implementation and deployment of technology solutions
Sound understanding of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and the related applications
Computer literate and proficient in MS Office applications
Knowledge of heavy equipment operation; haul truck, track type tractors, graders, and excavators
Knowledge of civil engineering office software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or Trimble Business Center
Knowledge of commercial impact of decision making and demonstrates the ability to negotiate skillfully through tough situations to best advance organizational interests
Proficient with the MineStar suite of technology products
Ensure customer and internal requests for support and training services, are responded to at earliest availability, and services are delivered in a time frame that is acceptable to the customer
Develop training material to communicate lessons learnt
Provide training to team members with the goal of meeting team and organizational objectives
Develop Competency assessments to determine workforce acumen
Develop comprehensive knowledge and experience with Caterpillar MineStar products and product applications
Ensure proper adherence to all Finning policies, including Code of Conduct and Safety
Maintain positive relationships with all customers, external and internal, including suppliers and coworkers, with the goal of ensuring customer satisfaction score which meets current company target

Education & Experience:
2-5 years of progressively related instructional design and training roles; Bachelor degree or equivalent
Experience in developing training materials and presentation techniques
Demonstrated technology training experience (classroom, dealer and customer facing)
Experience with Caterpillar MineStar Products (Fleet, Terrain, Detect, Health, and Command) deemed an asset
Professional experience with other Modular, Wenco, Jigsaw, and Hexagon Products would be reviewed
Familiar with company policies and procedures with a strong department background considered an asset
Mining Experience is an asset

Note:
Travel to customer facilities and worksites where and when required
This role involves working alongside customers on operational mine sites, and around varying types of heavy equipment
Priorities can change regularly and without notice with changing business volumes
Working hours and locations, can vary depending on customer requirements, business volumes and severity of customer issues
This role also involves hosting and participating in marketing related events, such as trade shows and open invitation demonstrations, as well as classroom training events
These events can involve irregular working hours and dress codes may change to suit the event
The demands of this position regularly require travel for periods up to, but not limited to, five day periods
At times may require after-hours support to field based Technicians, machine down, etc.
