Project Manager/Designer:
This role will require both sound technical abilities as well as experience in project management and design. From the initial design of equipment and systems all the way through scheduling and delivery, your efforts will ensure both that Sulzer’s standards for quality and customer satisfaction are implemented.

Collaboration will be critical to this role. You’ll work alongside designers, engineers, planners, and others throughout the process, coordinating efforts between various departments to ensure customer satisfaction, optimal costing and on time deliveries.

Practically speaking, you will:
Maintain a range of project management documents including schedules for labour/equipment as well as budgets
Coordinate sales orders and support the sales process as a SME
Review specifications, drawings, orders, and Scope Worksheet
Review mechanical and electrical specifications for compliance, rectify and resolve discrepancies between scope of supply and technical specifications
Initiate, coordinate and monitor equipment procurement
Prepare Change Orders in accordance with project requirements
Keep detailed project notes and administration
Maintain close contact with representatives and customers regarding delays, changes in scope, and important timelines/milestones
Supervision and instruction of installation work for systems and turn-key work
Inspection of fabricated projects at our fabrication subcontractors (DC and ARMI)
Keep a detailed inspection administration
Ensure safety procedures are followed and implemented

Working with Sulzer:
This will be a full-time, permanent position, with hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with some flexibility. In addition to a competitive salary, you’ll receive benefits, 3 weeks’ vacation after your first year, and access to our pension plan.

Degree/diploma in process, mechanical or chemical engineering
Experience relating to project engineering (1+ for junior roles preferred, or 3+ required for intermediate roles)
Process engineering focus, either professionally or academically, preferably in waste management or a similar industry
Strong computer skills and proficiency with common applications including databases and MS Office (especially Word, Outlook and Excel)
Valid passport and ability to travel within Ontario and internationally up to 25% of scheduled time
Ability to obtain a US work visa and must be a Canadian citizen
Experience in a client facing role would be an asset
