Team Lead – Residential & Transitional Care (Fredericton, NB)
This is a great career opportunity for an FSW, Youth Support Worker or similarly qualified professional who has both the confidence and the skills needed to play an integral part in the delivery of quality services to our CBI Health Group Residential & Transitional Care clients.
As Team Lead, you will report to, and work closely with, the Regional Operations Manager to ensure the support needs of all individuals residing in the assigned home(s) are met or exceeded, while seeing to it that staff members feel valued, motivated and committed to excellence in all their areas of responsibility. Providing leadership and guidance in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, you will contribute to ensuring that the environment is safe and that the daily administrative requirements of operating the home are met, including staffing levels.
Ultimately, your success in this leadership role will be a direct reflection of your ability to contribute directly to a positive experience for our Residential and Transitional Care clients and their families.
Leading by example in your assigned home(s) as Team Lead – Residential and Transitional Care, you will:
Build strong relationships and rapport with all clients within the home, so as to gain a good understanding of their preferences, needs, triggers, responses, etc.
Coach and monitor staff to ensure everyone understands client care, individual support plans and behavioural support plans, escalating any performance concerns to the Regional Operations Manager
Ensure adherence to the meal plan and the recreation plan
Assist in providing orientation to new staff, to ensure continuity of support and care for individuals
Take inventory and order all household supplies and goods that have been approved by the Manager
Complete weekly client reports and submit to the Regional Operations Manager and the Clinical Care Manager
Perform day-to-day audits of documentation
Track and identify trends and escalate issues accordingly
Ensure a healthy and safe environment for clients and employees, by participating in staff safety training and home inspections, and ensuring compliance with standards and requirements.
To take on the role of Team Lead – Residential & Transitional Care, you must:
hold a diploma in Human Services, Child and Youth Care, Disability Support Worker or a degree in Social Science (Psych/Soc/Crim, etc) or Nursing (2 or 4 year program)
bring at least one (1) year of experience in a hands-on role as well as in a leadership capacity
hold current CPR and First Aid Certificates
provide a Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening obtained within the last 12 months
provide evidence of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and an up-to-date Immunization Record
combine good oral and written communication skills with proven interpersonal abilities
ideally, have community experience such as in mental health, working with youth and adults with behavioural problems
be prepared to participate in Safety Care Training (de-escalation and physical management training)
possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation
be able to provide employee development and coaching in a teamwork environment
be well organized, flexible, detail-oriented and focused on excellence in customer service.
