About this Opportunity
The primary objective of the Health, Safety Wellness Advisor (HSW Advisor) is to provide a full spectrum of Health and Safety to the business unit. This role will support and lead the implementation of the health, safety and wellness policies and programs for the organization. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager
What You Will Do
Primary Health and Safety responsibilities are:
Participate in developing and maintaining a health and safety program which complies with government, industry and operational standards
Provide Case Management and Accident Investigation support to the unit and act in a timely manner to conduct investigations and follow-up requirements, training etc.
Ensure Audit compliance by participates in audits and leads the unit in their action plans, continuous improvement and OH&S legislative compliance
Lead Health and Safety Committee to address issues and proved advice regarding wellness, compliance and support corporate required health, safety and wellness initiatives
Schedule / organize health and safety training (in-house training required
Education and Experience
University degree or college diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent.
8+ years' experience in implementing health, safety and wellness initiatives in a manufacturing organization.
OHS Certificate and/or all other relevant training (engineering, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, nursing care, etc.).
Previous experience on a Joint Health and Safety Committee and Joint Health and Safety Committee Training Part 1 and 2
