We are looking for an individual with strong analytical and computer programming skills to join our Loyalty and Consumer Insights team to help us understand customer behavior across both Shoppers Drug Mart and Loblaw. This is an exciting opportunity to help drive insights across the enterprise working with the data from the largest Loyalty program in Canada.

Join our Analysts in a center of expertise (COE) to discover, plan, and deliver innovative opportunities for the business in new channels, partnerships and promotions, keeping the customer central to everything. Help us analyze and optimize the biggest and strongest loyalty program in Canada, and one of the top loyalty programs globally.

We are hiring a Coop Student, Shoppers Drug Mart Consumer Insights

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, this Loyalty and Consumer Insights analyst will be pulling, analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources to provide actionable insights to key business stakeholders. The analyst will be responsible for providing objective, value-added analysis interpretation and recommendations to facilitate discussions & decisions related to high profile initiatives at Shoppers Drug Mart, Joe Fresh and PC Financial. This role will allow the Business Analyst to gain insight and perspective across multiple Loblaw divisions while building highly in demand and transferable skills.

What You'll Do:
Extract, review and prepare data for analysis & reporting using SQL and other programming languages
Develop concise and easy to understand strategic and customer insights from data analysis
Data visualization: Build dashboards & performance reports with strong focus on automation of data extraction and manipulation
Perform detailed analysis (data sourcing, analysis, testing) to ensure reliability, credibility and viability of conclusions and recommendations
Synthesize large amounts of data from multiple sources, extrapolate and interpret appropriate information
Assist in preparation of presentation materials for senior management
Collaborate closely with data experts (internal & external) to build and extract appropriate and accurate data sets to support complex analysis
Support projects with financial modeling when necessary

What You'll Need:
Working knowledge of SQL and/or other programming languages
Work experience in an analytical role
Education in Computer Science is an asset
Advanced MS Excel
Accountable to ensure data accuracy and quality
Ability to synthesize large amount of data into insights
Strong business acumen
A team player and self-starter
Strong attention to detail
Curiosity and willingness to ask questions
