Referring to the Operations Manager, you will have as main responsibilities:
Lead, coach and mobilize inventory employees
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, standards and regulations in force in the warehouse and actively participate in improving those (SST, BRC, HACCP, etc.)
Participate in the management of disciplinary files and complaints in collaboration with the management and human resources services
Conduct accidents’ investigations and participate in the analyzes
Proactively acting in identifying problems and implementing solutions/ corrective measures
Provide prompt, efficient and courteous service to clients
Ensure that employees have received training and information necessary to perform their work
Communicate relevant information to the other shift(s)
Actively participate in reaching the objectives and work on the continuous improvement of performance
Approve employees’ hours
Ensure the routine inventory counts (per customer, by zone, etc.)
Make sure that basic checks are performed in different areas of the warehouse to determine if the product could have been placed in the wrong place
Ensure the tracking of damaged or missing crates. Make the necessary inventory adjustments and apply the appropriate corrections to the system
Make sure inventory counts (system and physical) are updated accurately and in a timely manner
Analyze the source of possible errors and propose a corrective action to prevent a recurrence
Ensure follow-up with internal customers
Ensure the preparation of required reports (e.g. reports on causes, financial reports, etc)
Optimise the stocktaking system and the working methods
Verify on a random basis the orders sent to shipping
Inform, train, and/or coach employees about the applicable working methods updates and about changes made to the system
Ensure the control and preparation of the samples for suppliers
Manage products designated for destruction
Ensure the occasional verification of the size of boxes and pallets
Support the operations supervisors as required
Perform any other related tasks as assigned
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
College study diploma
Between three (3) and five (5) years relevant experience
Experience in employee management, warehouse supervision, inventory control coordination is mandatory.
Or any equivalent combination work/studies.
Strong supervisory skills with the ability to provide leadership and vision to the operation division.
Ability to develop strong teams while managing employees at multiple level.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write and verbally communicate to a variety of audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive working relationships.
Excellent analytical, decision making and problem solving skills.
Ability to establish priorities among competing demands in order to organize and manage multiple projects/activities effectively and efficiently, while meeting deadlines.
Ability to pay attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of work.
Knowledge of procedures, quality standards, laws and regulations such as OHS, BRC standards, HACCP, etc. is essential.
Proficiency using MS Office Suite and Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Knowledge of refrigeration is considered an asset.
Bilingualism: English & French spoken and written is considered an asset
Ability and capacity to lift loads up to 25 kg
Ability to work in cold (between 4°C and -25°C)
Must have or be able to obtain certification for material handling equipment (e.g. Reach truck and Orderpicker machines
