Open availability needed for full time breakfast and dinner position.

Cook responsibilities include breakfast, lunch and dinner line cooking. Room service meals, catering, banquets, buffets and special events are also a large part of what we do at this location. All cooks work together as a team and we will be looking for another individual to round out our group with a strong scope of skills and confidence in the kitchen. We are looking for an individual with line cooking experience, a good culinary knowledge base and commercial kitchen experience. Each day you will be responsible for prep and set up of your station and line, general kitchen prep, equipment maintenance and cleaning, meal service cooking and end of service cleaning and closing routines. Note that this role requires working early mornings, evenings or weekends – you must have full, open availability to be considered for a full time position at this location.Cooks must have a working knowledge of food safety and are expected to adhere to our company policies surrounding these expectations daily. Our kitchen team is a dynamic group looking for the perfect addition to our team to help launch a new menu and take our dining experience to the next level. We will be looking for input from team members and the kitchen team to create a great working atmosphere and incredible food for our guests. Ultimately, you’ll help provide an unforgettable dining experience for our customers, focusing on quality produce, prepared well and complimented by a fantastic selection of wine and beer.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plated meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner following recipes and plating guides.
  • Prep your station and assist with general kitchen prep, ordering, stock rotation, equipment cleaning and daily maintenance.
  • Food safety practices including food temperatures, storage and receiving rotations, labelling and dating of all prepared products, preparing allergy specific meals with care and concern.
  • Working and communicating with team in a kind, respectful manner.
  • Being punctual and prepared for all shifts scheduled – this includes arriving with a clean uniform, kitchen shoes, hat and any other items you may life to use such as personal knives.
  • Cooks must take pride in food preparation, presentation and food safety to ensure our guests have an ideal dining experience.
  • Prepare food for special functions in accordance with special requests and custom orders.

Requirements

  • Work experience in a commercial or professional restaurant
  • Hands-on experience with line cooking, food prep and large scale catering, buffets ideal
  • Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
  • Time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Must take pride in food safety and allergy awareness
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, weekdays
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Physically capable of standing for long periods of time
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 40lbs from floor to waist height
