Reporting to the Vice President, Construction, the Lead Planner/Scheduler will design and monitor the schedule program in alignment with corporate and industry standards, to provide recommendations, training, tools and techniques to achieve a high quality of schedule management on every project.
This position is based in the Calgary, AB office with travel to project sites required.

Works collaboratively with senior management in setting goals and identifying key “gaps” that lead to improvements across the company.
Oversees and maintains the scheduling program to enable project teams in achieving superior productivity-based schedules through Development, Maintenance and As Built stages (including standardized WBS Coding and DCMA 14 analytics).
Leads the development of a scheduling database for productivity information to assist in the production of future schedules.
Develops and maintains a Change Management program, and supports existing programs with review, training, revision and auditing as required.
Works closely with internal stakeholders to develop and implement programs that ensure scheduling standards and processes are developed, understood and audited across operations.
Recommends and makes changes to company programs based on emerging trends, legislation, and techniques, by conducting cost-benefit analysis.
Develops audit program and conducts periodic independent audits to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
Utilizes feedback loops from customer service, benchmark market data and net promoter scores to refine schedule practices.
Develops or assists in the development and presentation of online and/or class-based training.
Recommends training and development of new and existing employees as identified through the audit/inspection program.
Provides subject matter expertise in the proposal and preconstruction phase.
Leads cross-functional teams in the development of mitigation plans when schedule issues arise.
Reviews and enhances systems for monitoring schedule management onsite, including periodic checks that measure productivities.
Works closely with management and project teams to continuously improve employee skills, project delivery and business processes.
Develops project KPIs, knowledge base or other system to help identify recurring issues, lessons learned and best practices.

University degree in Engineering, completion of a technical engineering diploma, or relevant qualification through a PMP program
CET or P.Eng designation an asset
10+ years’ related work experience with knowledge of commercial construction practices and techniques and industry regulatory requirements, including in depth knowledge of the use of DCMA 14 practices and schedule activities to support EVM principles
Detailed knowledge of engineering and construction principles, practices, codes, regulations, applicable legislation and statues
Must be able to work and comply with all safety requirements on construction
Training or experience with audit/process review procedures and preparing applicable reports
Experience developing and providing training and applicable presentations, as well as program development
Advanced technical proficiency in: Microsoft Projects, SAP, Primavera, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel)
Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges
Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, presentation and problem-solving skills
