The opportunity

This unique position has responsibility for both an operational management system program as well as leadership of a senior multi-discipline engineering team providing critical support across all Business Units at TC Energy. It provides the successful candidate with high visibility and diverse career development opportunities including:

leadership, exposure to all of the business units, exposure to senior leadership across TC Energy, Operational Management Systems, engineering issue resolution on systems critical to TC Energy.

This successful candidate will be exposed to the different engineering and operational challenges that exist at TC Energy including ownership of process safety critical procedures. The successful candidate will need to dynamically manage diverse real time engineering support demands of the team with governance and enablement of the Facility Integrity Program. This role reports to the Director, Facility Integrity & Process Safety.

What you’ll do

In collaboration with the Facility Integrity & Process Safety teams and Business Units, ensure that resources are available and trained to support the development of engineering processes, procedures, specifications, standards and business practices to support the Facility Integrity Program
Provide management oversight for the implementation of facility integrity engineering processes, procedures, specifications, standards and business practices as well as providing technical services required by the BUs Operations and Project teams
Coach and mentor staff in their performance and development, and help them realize their full potential

Minimum qualifications

University degree in Engineering with 10 or more years of relevant, progressive experience or Technical diploma and equivalent experience
Proven team management and leadership evidenced by high performing individuals and achievement of team goals
Demonstrated ability to initiate change and help others adapt to a continuously changing environment
Demonstrated skills in aligning goals with strategic direction and achieve targeted business results
Proven team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
Demonstrated commitment to the development and application of effective business practices
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Self-starter with a pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution
Strong understanding of Canadian, American and Mexican regulatory engineering, operations, and maintenance requirements
Capacity to conduct business with a sense of urgency and manage to meet short deadlines through a demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple and conflicting priorities
Skilled at creating business and operational solutions by looking at the whole picture while understanding the details and technical aspects of a situation
Motivational and energetic leader, unafraid to test the status quo and drive change through the organization
Strong knowledge of management systems, risk assessment techniques and processes for facility integrity

Preferred qualifications

Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation is preferred
Education on Management Systems, Integrity programs or Process Safety will be considered an asset
Knowledge of how integrity data enables predictive analytics is an asset

Additional Role Requirements

Have and maintain a valid Driver's License and provide a Driver's Abstract for review
This position may require travel across borders and as such the candidate must be able to provide applicable documentation to this effect
