The Oil and Gas Division is responsible for developing and creating a positive climate for the economic, environmental, and socially responsible development of BC’s natural gas and petroleum resources for the benefit of all British Columbians.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing the planning, development and implementation of policies, programs and high profile projects in petroleum and natural gas upstream infrastructure. The Project Manager is responsible for managing the Ministry’s infrastructure royalty programs. A key responsibility of the position is to lead all aspects of the Division’s infrastructure royalty programs, including the Clean Growth Infrastructure Royalty Program. The incumbent represents and negotiates on behalf of the Province with senior members of the oil and gas industry on partnership infrastructure agreements, projects and initiatives.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Degree in public administration, economics, business administration, natural resource management, applied science, or equivalent.
Experience leading corporate projects of considerable scope and complexity with a strong attention to detail.
Experience negotiating and managing contracts.
Experience developing program frameworks, and delivery of programs.
Experience providing expert advice, guidance and problem solving to senior management, government staff and external stakeholders.
Experience and proficiency with technology used in project management and contract administration processes (e.g., MS Excel or MS Access) to develop and manage project information (contract related spreadsheets and produce reports)
