The Salvation Army Sunset Lodge -LTC facility is currently seeking a Cook and Assistant/Line Cook to join the Food Department for our 108-bed complex care facility. Casual /On-Call positions are currently available.
Assist with the preparation of meals; may prepare for special dietary needs of the residents cook a variety of meals from scratch using standard recipes and recognized culinary techniques. Transport and serve meals as required. Keep work stations clean at all times and participate in general cleaning and maintenance of kitchen work areas. Follow guidelines for the safety and security of food and equipment and monitoring practices to ensure adherence. High School and two years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
The successful applicant will hold/have: WHMIS, Food Safe Level 1. Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, understanding of food safety practices, and experience with culinary terminology and techniques. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and to deal with others effectively. Red Seal Certificate preferred
SALARY RANGE: Per HEU/HEABC Collective Agreement
