Load and unload shipments using Bills of Lading, in a safe, efficient manner avoiding damages
Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
Marks materials with identifying information
Perform counts and on occasion required to weigh items to ensure conformance to the shipper's bill of lading
Starts heaters, placards trailers as required
Arranges freight in specified sequence for maximum usage of trailer space
Must take an active role in safety and maintenance of the warehouse by sweeping the floor, proper storage of dunnage, etc.
Inspect freight for damages, record OS&D’s and take pictures as needed
Use of forklifts, power and manual pump carts, booms, long forks, carpet poll, 2 wheel dollies etc...
Perform pre and post inspection on equipment being used
General housekeeping as required
Typical Hours will be:
Tuesday to Friday: 1:00 am start
Saturday 00:00 am start
Estimated finish time Tuesday to Friday 09:30 am,Saturday 08:30am
Other duties may be assigned
Forklift/Tow motor certificate
WHIMS/Dangerous Goods Certificate (These items can covered with in-house training programs)
Developed problem solving, critical thinking, decision making and judgment skills
Able to lift 50 lbs, sometimes repetitive
Ability to multitask and manage various tasks successfully
Ability to operate our internal computer systems
Willing to train the right applicant
Knowledge of AS400 system an asset
