Job Summary

Daily Attendance Recording

Daily Playground Checklists

Checking e-mails daily – responding to parents

Daily Activity Calendar – make sure there is a planned activity calendar ready for the first of each month, print 10-12 copies for parents to take with them

Snack Supplies & Craft Supplies Shopping – monthly petty cash will be given on or near the 1st of each month as a budget for purchasing program supplies (recording all purchases and keeping receipts)

Drills (Fire & Earthquake) – Fire drills are to be done every month and recorded on the fire drill sheet. Earthquake drills are to be done every 3 months and recorder on the earthquake drill record sheet

First Aid Bags – Make sure first aid bag or bags are stocked with everything on the first aid checklist that is inside the bags. Please replenish items that need replenished.

Professional Days/Early Dismissals – Responsible for planning centre based activities when necessary

Minor Incident Reports – Make sure Minor incident reports are recorded in the Minor Incident Book

Major Incident Reports – Making sure major incidents are reported to management

Licensing Preparedness – Use the licensing checklist to prepare your centre for a licensing visit, which can take place anytime (unscheduled)

Communication with Parents – informing parent of any changes to pick up routine, such as early dismissals, change of pickup location on professional days, etc.

Newsletter Write-up – an email asking a few questions about your program’s previous month and month upcoming will be sent to you with a due date

Building Issues - Reporting anything that is wrong with the physical space to management

Job Type / Category

This position is between 34-40 hours per week, depending on the schedule. There is a 3 month probation period, after which a review will take place with your supervisor. Extended medical benefits are available after 3 months.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

- Education required is 20 hours of coursework in courses pertaining to children's growth and development. ECE, ECE Assistant, or Responsible Adult Certificate preferred

- Experience in teaching, childcare, school age care, nannying or camp settings is necessary

- First Aid Certification is mandatory (must be current)

- 3 references are required
