Business Development Manager

Red Rover is New Brunswick’s original craft cider manufacturer. This family business was established in 2012, we proudly use only the finest ingredients, that combined with traditional cider making techniques with modern technology create the finest international award-winning cider and beverages.

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced sales professional with a passion for craft beverages to fill the role of Business Development Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling and increasing the company’s market share by developing accounts and building upon existing customer relationships.

A proven track record of success in sales with a minimum of one year of experience in B2B sales is required. Experience in outside sales or sales management is an asset. Industry knowledge and/or experience is also an asset. Candidates must have an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Compensation includes a base salary plus commission, with potential earnings capped at $200,000.

Objective of Role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients and customers ensuring that they are satisfied with Red Rover products and services.

General Accountability

The Business Development Manager is accountable to the Company Owner and is responsible for all tasks related to sales, including communication, data management, event coordination, project management, and more.

All current accounts within Atlantic Canada and Eastern Canada fall within the purview of the Director of Sales. New regions that may be developed over the next 1-3 years include Asia, the United States and Europe.

Nature and Scope

The Business Development Manager receives supervision from the Company Owner. The position relies on experience and reliable judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Business Development Manager interacts with the leadership team, customers, staff, producers etc. The Business Development Manager is highly versatile, can work well independently as well as collaborate successfully to carry out responsibilities. The role requires hard work and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure success.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Make sales calls to corporate customers, producers and private customers
  • Visit every current tap and bar account in person at least once a month
  • Keep records of sales calls and visits and use the tools available to build CRM
  • Co-ordinate with production staff to ensure timely delivery can always be achieved
  • Schedule and carry out sales visits to corporate customers, producers and other customers within assigned territory
  • Maintain positive relationships with all customers
  • Increase sales numbers within budget
  • Identify new market opportunities and meet with potential new customers
  • Event-based sales
  • Create brand analysis, sales and consumer data reports and presentations


  • Create brand-appropriate print media
  • Create and present marketing plans to the leadership team
  • Maintain and create brand-appropriate online/social media content
  • Help to create Sales and Marketing Analytics
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs assisted and 20 lbs unassisted

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Highly versatile, planner and ability to keep big-picture goals in mind
  • Deadline oriented
  • Multi-tasker, ability to switch to different activities and priorities daily
  • Superior communication skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent ability in tasks related to communication, digital media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email etc) and print media
  • Graphic design capability an asset
  • Experience in a B2B sales role an asset
  • Project Management skills an asset


  • College degree – Marketing, Business or combined school and experience an asset
  • 5+ years experience in a comparable role an asset
  • Business to Consumer experience an asset
  • Experience in the beverage industry an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Commission

Salary: $35,000.00 to $200,000.00 /year
