Delivers internal and external communications programs, including participating in the development and implementation of communications strategies for various corporate policies, initiatives and events.
Develops and implements TransLink’s internal and external corporate communications programs and strategies for various corporate policies, initiatives and events. May act a contact for news media enquiries, and assist other departments with media relations issues.
Writes, edits and coordinates production of a variety of communications materials for both print and electronic/web publications. Plans and tailors content of messages to a variety of audiences and ensure content and messaging is consistent with TransLink’s mission, vision and values, and the corporate communications strategy.
Coordinates and participates in communications events including but not limited to townhall meetings, media events and other TransLink public events.
Collaborates with clients groups (executives, managers and topic experts) across the enterprise to develop and deliver communications for policies, initiatives and events.
Consults with client groups to ensure copy is accurate and communicates the desired message to the intended audience.
Researches communications best practices and trends, making recommendations on potential new programs and initiatives.
This position will be part of the Social Media & Digital Content team within TransLink Communications. The preferred candidate will be asked to fulfill the following duties:
Be open to being on camera and acting in a spokesperson role for online content
Have a love of social media and community management as well as curiosity for new technology and new ways to tell stories online
Writes quick, short and effective copy for online platforms
edit and shoot videos, photos and graphics for publication by:
- researching compelling visual content to accompany important customer messaging
- composing and editing video and photos to tell a compelling story which will encourage engagement with customers
- have a working knowledge of video and photo editing software
Assist with compiling social media analytics by:
- using different social media listening software to produce daily reports
- speaking to the reports in daily team meetings
