Job Summary

The Reporting Analyst position reports to the Manager, Strategic Analytics. The incumbent will be responsible for the research, analysis and collection of data for reporting purposes. The incumbent is responsible for the quarterly project status, a wide range of reports and dashboards and is expected to work closely with the Directors of International Projects, Canadian Branch Projects, and Corporate Premises Projects as well as Project Managers and Leasing Managers to ensure current project statuses are accurate at all times. The incumbent will also be responsible for identifying areas of concern, potential budget overruns, and assist with setting yearly project budgets and coordinating with the Directors on future projects.

The incumbent will also work with the FINACCT group to prepare analytical and operational reviews for the Manager and Director, Operational Services to ensure Real Estate operations are conducted in a proper, cost effective manner, along with a broad range or reports on Real Estate’s portfolio for both Real Estate’s senior management and other departments. The incumbent will be responsible for approving invoices and journal entries and system and processing improvements as required.

Key Accountabilities

1. Serve as a central point of contact for all business information within the department for all department projects.
2. Prepare all monthly, quarterly, and yearly project reports.
3. Analyze and produce ad hoc reporting requests from project team heads.
4. Provide high quality analytical and reporting support to the Director and Senior Managers on a wide range of business issues facing Real Estate. In preparing reports, the incumbent is challenged to integrate information from a number of disparate sources such as the Bank’s fixed asset system Smartstream, Build, EGL, fee managers’ reports and Real Estate project files.
5. Assist in the reporting of SOX and IFRS accounting standards by maintaining and improving procedures as necessary.
6. Assist in preparation of yearly project budgets.

Functional Competencies

The incumbent must have strong analytical and organizational skills coupled with a good working knowledge of the Bank network. Also required is a good working knowledge of the terminology and documents of the real estate industry as it relates to lease documents, construction, and scheduling.

The individual requires good investigative and research skills with an eye for detail in order to find and analyze required information from many different sources. The candidate must have the necessary skills to query the necessary data sources in order to retrieve the desired information independently.

The incumbent must have the ability to work with a diverse group of fellow workers, who often have conflicting agendas, requiring patience and good negotiation skills. Also required are excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritize, strong concise written presentation skills. The incumbent must display flexibility and reliability, and be comfortable working within a team environment and capable of learning quickly and passing on that knowledge to less technical staff. Initiative is required, as autonomy is expected.

The ideal candidate must have advanced MS Excel skills as well as exposure to SQL, Python/R and Tableau. Experience working with MS Project is an asset.

Educational Requirements
Business or Legal post secondary education, preferred, or equivalent experience.
