In this complex and high profile position, you will work across the business to provide communications expertise and thought partnership to Suncor’s Workplace Strategy.

You will use your expertise to:
Work with the Vice President, Culture and Organizational Transformation and team, to develop coordinated communications strategies to support changes and effective implementation of workspace, work environment (both field and office), business tools and policies
Own the development, integration and execution of the Workforce ConneXions communications strategy
Be responsible for embedding Suncor's priorities in the workplace strategy communications and planning
Drive existing processes to synthesize and evolve messaging, and develop content to bring leaders and employees along on the journey towards a transformational work environment and the cultural shift required to successfully make this transition
Work closely with people readiness group and key project teams to develop and execute engagement activities to align parties
Collaborate with the communications team and the Transformation Management Office (TMO) to pilot and/or support communication tools and channels
Use best practices and internal and external research to drive behaviour change for a transformational workplace experience
We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
At least 10 years of relevant experience
A University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or associated field
Experience working with key corporate functions including Human Resources (HR) and Digital and Enterprise Technical (D&ET)
Proficiency leading consultants and contractors
Expert experience in strategic communications planning, consulting skills, project management, change management, new technologies and media, writing and editing
Demonstrated competence to carry out complex and unstructured projects to completion in a fast paced environment
Shown capacity to influence and inspire change across all levels of a large and complex organization, working with different types of people
Lead communication team members where no formal reporting relationship exists and utilize proven conflict management and analytical skills
Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:
Member of a professional organization or peer group and / or professional accreditation
In-depth knowledge of the energy industry and Suncor
Communication agency or consulting firm experience
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
Irregular hours may be required SAP:IND
