Manage the day-to-day administration and operation of the Honeychurch Family Life Resource Centre
Participates with DHQ/THQ consultants in the strategic planning for the ministry unit securing necessary approvals from the Divisional Finance Board/Executive
Directs and oversees the annual budgeting process for the ministry unit
Facilitates implementation of Territorial standards and best practices reflecting the economic, service and business environment in compliance with The Salvation Army
Ensures all property is inspected and maintained in compliance with applicable legislation; works with the DSBA to prepare all property proposals for presentation to the appropriate boards
Oversees or directly manages effective employee/labour relations practices in consultation with the Divisional Director of Employee Relations
Hires, orientates, trains, evaluates, recognizes, disciplines and terminates in concert with Territorial standards; submits and acts on incident reports; deals with complaints
Maintains and promotes positive working relationships/partnerships and communications with funders and community stakeholders; works with DHQ to re-negotiate contracts with government funder/s; works with DHQ/THQ to identify and pursue opportunities to enhance program delivery by seeking new government funding sources
Supervision of Legal Support Workers, Intake Workers, Childcare Worker, Housekeepers, Administrative Coordinator, Client Services Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, Cook and Chaplain
Monitors and ensures consistency in case management systems and practices
Establish and maintains a Community Council, recruiting members, setting agendas, and following up on actions arising from meetings
Ensuring the design and effective delivery of all SAHFLRC programs
Use appropriate procedures in dealing with staff and client complaints and community concerns
Approve and implement all policies and procedures, and all existing and new programs
Provide direction and communication to staff via staff memos
Chair all staff and management meetings
Scheduling of all staff reporting to the Director
Promoting and developing in-staff training programs for all staff in areas deemed necessary
Work with Client Services Manager in managing and monitoring clients regarding assessment and/or disciplinary measures if required
Provide oversight in the gathering of statistics and exploring new programs and services

Adhere to standards that are consistent the values and philosophy of The Salvation Army
Participate fully and constructively in Staff Meetings and in-service training.
Engage in formal Evaluations Sessions with Supervisor at three (3) month during first year of employment and annually thereafter.
Read and adhere to the Policy and Procedures Manual and the Employees Handbook.
Make suggestions that will improve efficiency, working conditions or procedures to Management.
Represent the organization in a professional manner and attitude.
Conducting performance evaluations, and monthly supervision for all staff reporting to the Director
Conduct interviews for potential employees. Recruit Centre staff to assist in process
Budget development and ongoing fiscal accountability
Cultivate and maintain working relationship with funders, i.e. Ministry of Community and Social Services, Salvation Army Red Shield efforts and other supportive business contacts
Develop and present an annual budget prior to fiscal period
Provide direction in the maintenance of standards for accreditation and program reviews.
Seek support and direction when needed with Human Resources Department at DHQ
Responsible for meetings with the SAHFLRC Community Advisory Council
Attend events in community requiring representation from the Centre
Conduct Centre tours when requested from community members
The successful job applicant will have completed an Undergraduate University degree (e.g., B.A., B.Sc. BSc.N.) or equivalent experience in the Social Services Ministry. Minimum of 2 year’s experience in program design, planning and implementation, and human resources management
Knowledge of issues on violence against women as well as crisis intervention and prevention
The Centre’s commitment to creating an anti-racist/anti-oppressive work place
Conflict Resolution/problem solving and supervisory skills
Knowledge of community resources and services
Ability to function within a Christian perspective
Valid Class 'G' Driver's License
Valid WHMIS and First Aid and CPR certification

Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:
A clear vulnerable sector screening
A clean drivers abstract
Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring, as well as updated annually
HOURS: 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
