As we continue to grow, we have a need for the following position:
Date: January 15, 2020
Position: Day Camp Assistant Site Supervisor
Location: Family YMCA of St. Thomas-Elgin
Contract Date: May 25-September 4, 2020
Compensation: $15.25/hour

  • Candidates will be eligible to participate in our full benefit plan upon completion of a minimum of 25hrs per week every week for 10 consecutive months

  • Will follow developed policies in accordance with human resource polices of the organization and ensure compliance for all staff
  • Review and write program curriculum
  • Prepare and deliver summer staff training in conjunction with the leadership team
  • Ensure program quality and goals are met
  • Oversee program logistics
  • Teach Staff how to lead camp activities
  • Develop weekly program schedules for all age sections
  • Organize and deliver BIG DAY programming
  • Assist with overall site leadership as member of leadership team
  • Provide support to Counsellors managing camper behaviours
  • Maintain program equipment inventory and purchase program equipment as needed
  • Facilitate the ropes course with the leadership team
  • Assist with overall site leadership as member of leadership team
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum YMCA day camp staff requirements (see above)
  • Experience in day or residential camp
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to teach all camp programs listed in the activity section of the day camp brochure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and works well with people
  • Comfortable speaking (or singing and dancing) in front of large groups of campers
