Why this role is important?


Reporting to the Senior Director, Prestige Beauty, the Sr Manager, E-Commerce, Prestige Beauty is responsible to collaborate with existing and potential vendors in support of new product offerings, promotions, and growth relative to SDM Prestige Beauty E-Commerce platform. The Sr, Manager will refine current strategies and develop and implement additional strategies to attract and motivate customer purchases, product and promotional differentiation, grow market share, and increase customer loyalty on the E-Commerce platform.


Direct report – one E-Commerce Inventory Manager

Primary Responsibilities

Monitor product mix listing to ensure timely acquisition of products, appropriate replenishment through SDM DC & 3PL warehouse, suggest changes in purchasing and provide solutions to minimize the impact of customer online order management.
Collaborate with SDM Prestige Beauty Category Management team on timely updates with product assortment, inventory management for flyer promotions, and new brand opportunities for online exclusives
Manage priorities for weekly online Marketing with Digital Marketing team
Manages online seasonal programs, and helps support online exclusives through promotional and Marketing strategies
Oversees workload and provides supervision to ensure that work is done accurately, efficiently and complies with policies, procedures and standards as well as best working practices
Provides guidance, motivation, and performance review including hiring and terminating employees, to maintain and enhance competency levels, identify future training requirements and achieve goals to increase performance.
Review competitive market, and generate tactics & strategies in support of incremental sales & margin growth for SDM Prestige Beauty E-commerce business
Work with Digital team on upcoming segment/brand/category launches & timing
Work with Prestige Beauty team & Digital Marketing on product launches, brand priorities, weekly plans
Works with Marketing team on Social Media calendar of priorities and requests
Source new Vendor opportunities for E-Commerce business
Oversee inventory process with Think Logistics
Responsible for sharing weekly sales reporting, identifying achievements versus targets and drawing insights from the analysis
Adaptable to changing responsibilities based on market and company needs

Marketing management (manage Beauty Marketing calendar)

Weekly priority setting/planning with Marketing team on Prestige email content and category/brand priorities
Work with Marketing team on weekly updates to Prestige landing page, online exclusive offers and any key brand/product launch initiatives
Manage weekly connects with Marketing on E-Comm Prestige Beauty priorities
Align on any Prestige Beauty marketing content for E-comm

Inventory management

Weekly Flyer forecast and MOG (Mass Order Generation) management with Merchandising team
New item management with POG team & Supply Chain/Think Logistics
Exit strategy management: oversee logistics process to ensure inventory is managed with proper exit
Ensure inventory ‘balance’ with Think Logistics (3PL)
Determine MOG prepack priorities and quantities and manage seasonal inventory plan for E-Comm business with Merchandising team and Supply Chain
Work with BA team on promotional forecasting for E-Comm
Work with Think/DC to manage promotional inventory for E-Comm

Skills, Experience & Education

Utilizes decision making skills to achieve specific organizational objectives with consideration given to their impact on other work groups.
Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions. Able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
Advanced negotiation, persuasive and communication skills to secure favourable category plans for E-commerce.
Advanced understanding of quality standards relative to E-Commerce merchandising, marketing and promotional planning.
Computer skills to produce effective reports, documents and presentations.
Communicates with clarity, verbally and in one on one or group situations, or over the telephone.
Communicates well in writing by composing clear documents; facility with editing and/or proof-reading is required.
7-10 years of retail, merchandising, marketing experience.


Post-secondary education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Retail, Marketing, Merchandising or equivalent.
