The Facility Manager is responsible and accountable for all activities in all departments at the facility level. They will manage a commercial Medical Marijuana production facility's day to day operations and perform all tasks related to cannabis/marijuana process and product security monitoring and inventory management in compliance with the Cannabis Act. The Facility Manager is responsible and accountable for operating the facility in strict compliance with all applicable regulations under Controlled Substance and Drugs Act. The Facility Manager will be leading the Sanitation, Irrigation, and Facility Maintenance team.
Advanced knowledge of physical security requirements for Controlled Substances related legislations, Cannabis Act, controlled Drugs Act, GPP, and GMP.
Understanding Health Canada Security guidelines, process and product controls and vault inventory Management. Previous working experience in GMP, GAP, HACCP regulated environment is preferred.
Deep knowledge and understanding of Controlled substance and Drugs Act, its requirements and measure to be taking during product loss or theft.
Experience and technical knowledge of a production facility operations, man power management, logistic and warehouse administration
Ability to manage a large team, prioritize efficiently and make operational decisions.
Strong organization skills and attention to details
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor all Cannabis production related activities and security protocols.
Manage a team comprising of Sanitation, Irrigation and Facility Maintenance
Ensure Health Canada compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal organizational policies related to Marijuana products and coordinate Production, Warehouse and Distribution operations of Marijuana Products for the facility.
Engage with all Departments to find inefficiencies and execute improvements by providing clear communication and fostering close cooperation among all departments at the facility.
Ensure the development and implementation of short term and mid-term planning and forecasting for product, supplies and services.
Ensure efficient and timely corrective actions in case of any operational deviations.
Oversee the economic and operating performance of the facility and ensure it is managed and controlled efficiently in line with the company's framework, budget targets and market requirements.
Ensure the compliance with safety, health, environmental and quality guidelines provided by corporate and local regulations and customer requirements, Health Canada and the Cannabis Act.
Responsible to maintain audit ready status of the facility and participate in internal and Health Canada regulatory audits.
Oversee all activities related to Marijuana production, processing, product transfer and destruction of Cannabis materials and Marijuana products.
Responsible for Good Production Practices (GPP) and GMP in all cannabis/ marijuana related operations, and record keeping related to production, sale and distribution of marijuana products at the facility with appropriate update on the ERP system.
Must have good judgement and discretion, sensitivity to confidential matter is required.
Bachelor Degree or a related field
5 or more years of experience in a supervisor role
Knowledge of industrial engineering, human resources laws and regulations, and employee relations skills
Health Canada Security Clearance will be required.
Previous work experience with a Canadian Licensed Producer (LP) is considered as an asset.
Experience as a Manager in a GAP/ GMP/ HACCP regulated environment is an asset.
