Great Events Catering is seeking a talented, experienced, and energetic Sous Chef to be a strong, focused management presence, not only maintaining food standards and customer service, but passionately training and inspiring staff at all levels. Candidates must be leaders, able to coach and develop staff as well as create and implement systems in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Individuals must be detail-oriented, hard-working and creative professionals ready to take on all kitchen operations and lead by example.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Quality Control, Mentoring, Expediting
  • Scheduling, Purchasing, Inventory; ensuring all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company standards
  • Responsible for the overall food quality and presentation
  • Profit & Loss Analysis; maximizing sales while minimizing costs, analyzing sales figures and forecasts
  • Kitchen Staff scheduling & Labor Costs Management
  • Create & Maintain a Positive Work Environment and strong sense of team work and cooperation among all staff
  • Health Department Regulation Compliance; maintaining kitchen facilities and equipment
  • Employee Training & Development; communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Leadership and Conflict Resolution skills; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees

Required Experience:

  • * Must have minimum 2 year Sous Chef experience
  • * Well-rounded food background
  • * Proficient in computer applications and software
  • * Understanding of cost control including food, equipment, labor and waste
