Reporting to the Academic Manager, AC Online, the incumbent fulfills multiple responsibilities related to specialized progression supports in meeting and exceeding student success and retention objectives for a diverse online learner population. The incumbent is required to make decisions, participate in communicating a wide variety of information, and maintain detailed academic records to help facilitate learner success.
In providing enhanced high-quality client service, the incumbent builds relationships with online learners through focused digital outreach and communication supports. The incumbent utilizes technology-enabled applications to help plan, develop and deliver focused and self-directed progression and registration services, which relate to online learners and their retention, integration into online courses, success and engagement.
Working within a team of Program Support Officers, Program Support Specialists, Online Field Placement Officers, Student Success Specialists(s), and other college departments, the incumbent supports the coordination of supporting learners along all levels of their academic journey. In collaboration with the Student Success Specialist(s), the incumbent also participates in the preparation and delivery of online orientations and informational webinars related to AC Online procedures, application for admissions, program information, graduation requirements, and college services.
Utilizing a variety of college technology systems and early alerts to monitor, track and create reports the incumbent is able to determine specific retention supports to support learners. Maintaining a personalized and continuous focus on the online learner experience from initial enrollment though graduation is central to the role.
Minimum of a (3) year diploma / degree or equivalent in Office Administration, Education or related field(s)
Minimum of (2) years experience in advising an online and diverse clientele preferably in an educational setting
Proficient in use of online collaboration tools and/or educational technologies
Proficient in the use of creating and composing informational materials using MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Experience using databases to prepare and report on a variety of informational data
Experience coordinating and managing projects
Highly effective organizational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and work independently and within a team
Demonstrated knowledge of Learning Management Systems (i.e., Brightspace) is considered an asset
Demonstrated experience in the areas of coaching, advising, counseling, or career planning is considered an asset
