Corporate Procurement and Facilities team consists of Procurement professionals and Facilities personnel. We are currently looking to fill one (1) full-time permanent position.
As the Contract Analyst (Senior Buyer), you will be accountable for leading the end-to-end procurement process (from the identification of need through to contract execution and supplier relationship management) within the Corporate Procurement group, and providing subject matter expertise to the EPCOR Corporate Business Units. You will achieve compliance with company policies, trade agreements (NWPTA, CETA, CFTA), and procurement best practices.
Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, you will be accountable for but not limited to:
Leading the end-to-end procurement and contracting process.
Providing input to the procurement plans and directions.
Leading and facilitating negotiations, and serving as the negotiation representative for assigned procurements.
Preparing contract documents, coordinating award of contract, and makes recommendations to stakeholders and the procurement manager for award of contracts.
Advising and making recommendations to stakeholders with respect to potential procurement risks and the purchase to pay processes.
Conducting market research, assessing competition and market opportunities/ threats and recommending plans to address.
Collecting and analyzing data to determine the feasibility and advantage of establishing long- term supply contracts for high usage, high dollar volume, regularly purchased services and/or goods.
Developing recommendations to optimize overall cost, delivery and quality for assigned procurement portfolio.
Identifying and developing procurement and contracting strategies to address procurement project needs in collaboration with the procurement manager.
Establishing and maintaining supplier relationships and contracts; including facilitating contract review sessions between Business Partners and suppliers.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Diploma in a business related field (Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics etc.) from a recognized educational institute.
Degree in Supply Chain Management or a business related field (Business Administration, Economics, etc.) from a recognized educational institute will be considered an asset.
Purchasing Designation (SCMP, CPPO, or CPPB) is preferred.
At least 4 years’ experience in the Supply Chain Management field; from developing and issuing competitive bid documents, to facilitating the evaluation process.
Experience leading IT services and/or goods procurements is highly desirable.
Proven experience with contract negotiation and execution.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience in negotiating commercial terms and conditions and in competitive bidding law.
Knowledge of Trade Agreements and how it impacts the business.
Working knowledge and ability to interpret Procurement Policy, processes and procedures.
Demonstrated advanced skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.).
Demonstrated proficiency with Oracle or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
Past experience working in a utilities company or large corporation similar to EPCOR will be considered an asset.
Wage: $43.43 - $51.80/hour (effective December 22, 2019)
Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and is based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement that may be found online.
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.
If you are being considered for a driving position, a current 5 year commercial Driver Abstract will be required.
A technical/practical assessment may be administered during the selection process and this exercise will be used as a part of the selection criterion.
To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required.
