SALON SERVICES SPECIALIST - SENIOR CENTRE

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Recreation Programmer/Recreation Coordinator this position provides high quality personal care services. Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of registered participants at all times.

Deliver high quality esthetic or hairstyling services in a professional manner
Keep current with industry trends
Provide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging customers
Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation
Clear communication with clients to deliver service to meet expectations of the client
Maintain a safe and tidy program space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately
Monitor the use of equipment and supplies, conduct inventory counts and allow sufficient turnaround time for replenishments
Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action
Maintain an understanding of department programs and services
Adhere to all Health Department regulations and guidelines
Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (eg. attendance, incident/accident reports, opening and closing procedures)
Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
Attend meetings/training as required
Performs other duties as assigned

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Experience working with seniors considered an asset
Minimum 2 years experience in a salon environment
Must hold valid certification in Hairstyling or Esthetics from an accredited school/organization
Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire
Exceptional customer service and communication skills

**Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria.

Job status: Part-time

Hourly rate: $19.00
