Safety Administrator

At Stelco, we are seeking a talented Safety Administrator, to help us on the road to zero incidents in the Stelco Safety Department. Your Day to Day

  • Manage departmental purchase requisitions, purchase orders and receiving in Microsoft D365
  • Collect, evaluate and input data used for compiling company safety statistics/trends
  • Oversee and coordinate document management through the H&S SharePoint intranet site
  • Format, review and update departmental controlled documents database (i.e. policies and programs)
  • Writes a variety of documents including, but not limited to, correspondence and minutes
  • Calendar and time keep management
  • Other administrative tasks as required
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all internal and external partners

What You Bring to Stelco

Main Qualifications:

  • Excellent IT systems and database administration experience with programs such as MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Dynamics 365
  • Team player with ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral, and written communication skills
  • Safety focus / relevant safety training/knowledge past is a definite asset

Your work environment

  • 90% office work & 10% heavy manufacturing environment -this includes wearing personal protective equipment, such as a hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, respirator, flame retardant clothing and safety shoes with metatarsal protection as needed.
  • Role can be based out of either Nanticoke or Hamilton, but travel between both is periodically required.
