Summary

Under general supervision, the IT Systems Administrator will work with a team to manage and support local and remote IT systems for internal and customer operations. This position will provide technical support to both internal users and customers, regarding both hardware and software; install and maintain client, server and network hardware, operating systems, and software. This individual will be required to work well on a team and be self-motivated to complete items escalated from users and operations management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
  • Manage internal and external network and server infrastructure
  • Support internal users and project teams with IT needs
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • Manage backups

Collaboration

  • Works as a member of the IT support team.

Budgetary/Policy Responsibility

  • Acts in accordance with company policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

10+ Years of IT Systems Administration
Hands-on experience with administration of:

  • Microsoft Server, SQL Server, and Windows
  • Active Directory, Office 365, SCCM, Office suite
  • VMWare vCenter/ESXi and Microsoft HyperV virtualization technologies
  • Veeam backup

Experience with TCP/IP and network switching, routing and firewall technologies (Cisco, Ruckus)
NAS and SAN experience an asset

Ability to lead a team as well as work independently
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent organization and documentation skills
Is self-aware, optimistic and open to change
Ability to work with all levels of staff
Must be able to pass a security background check
Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends with minimal notice
