Your Opportunity:
As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will coordinate, monitor and assess clinical services in your assigned area. You will act as a clinical resource for daily operations, coordinating the work of therapy assessment and treatment in your service area, and assist in the development of clinical protocols. You will develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor the progress of patients (clients, residents) receiving advanced respiratory treatment. You will identify new equipment requirements, and establish and maintain adequate levels of supplies and materials for your area. You will be responsible for respiratory equipment, including but not limited to operation, procurement, maintenance and quality assurance. You will participate in interprofessional patient, client or resident rounds, conferences and meetings where applicable. This Clinical Lead position is for the Surgery and ER unit.

Required Qualifications:
Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Your quality of work must meet departmental and organizational expectations. You must demonstrate competency in all phases of the job, adaptability to new procedures and information, be current in respiratory therapy advances and changes in department practices, policies and procedures. Demonstrated clarity in your communication, organization and consistency of ideas, both verbally and written, including clinical documentation, is required. You must be highly motivated, confident and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS Values. You act quickly and decisively using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impact, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate. You can work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. You are a reliable worker who uses time effectively and is able to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:
Acute or critical care experience. Orientation to the position’s major and minor clinical areas. Current charge experience; experience precepting students, developing quality initiatives and implementing practice change, and active committee participant. Certification in Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification, Arterial Line Insertion and Intubation. Current Medical Emergency team and Severe Illness team member.
