To be eligible to apply for an intern position, you must meet the following criteria:
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
In possession of a Social Insurance Number at time of hire.
You have graduated or will graduate with a recognized post-secondary degree or diploma, post-graduate certificate or diploma between January 2019 and June 2020.
The successful candidates must possess post-secondary education in Computer Sciences and/or Data Management, American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification or equivalent. Training in statistical analysis and a wide variety of applications including MS Office (Access, Visio), SharePoint, Eclipse, SAP, Crystal Reports, SQL is preferred. Experience with GIS mapping and Web-based survey software would be an asset. The incumbent must have excellent project management skills and be able to plan, manage and prioritize tasks/projects with competing deadlines. A knowledge of Emergency Medical Services and/or a health background is preferred.
Ensures that the Paramedic Services data analyst has access to timely, relevant data.
Develops custom reports that are highly complex, utilizing data from multiple sources, in various formats.
Accesses and reviews highly confidential patient medical records on a daily basis.
Creates maps using Geographical Information System (GIS) software/ArcView.
Designs, maintains and reports on multiple databases.
Liaises with Public Health staff as required (e.g. surveillance activities).
Delivers reports and presentations alongside the Data Analyst to senior management staff regarding use of queries, interpretation of data.
Researches and trials new software applications, and makes recommendations to Paramedic Services management and corporate IT staff regarding applications.
Participates on a number of internal and external committees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
