Department Overview

We are hiring for a full-time Manager, Corporate Communications, who understands how best to tell the bank's Retail and Wholesale Business story across a number of platforms, audiences and geographies.

As a key contributor and member of the Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) team that directly supports TD Wealth Management, TD Securities, Business Banking and TD Insurance, you will be responsible for helping elevate the storytelling capabilities of your communications team both inside and outside the bank as well as collaborating with internal business communications partners to assist them in achieving the business group's objectives. Experience in delivering impactful enterprise written communications, including persuasive speeches, memorable remarks, engaging scripts, timely blogs and thought leadership pieces, for a complex organization is a mandatory qualification of the role.

Job Description

What will you do?

You will work closely with senior leaders to help refine and elevate their own and their business group's narrative.
You will be the sought-out expert in the team for written remarks, persuasive and compelling speeches, articles and thought leadership pieces that express the voice of TD and its leaders in ways that enhance business group and overall brand reputation.
Your ability to drive agendas, influence senior leaders and work closely with other communications and business professionals will be key to bringing others along on our journey.
You will identify and use the most appropriate storytelling tools to produce and deliver content to employee and external audiences, leveraging traditional, online and social that will help influence stakeholders and drive engagement.
You will be a champion for content excellence, and play a key role in evolving the stories that we tell and how we share them with our key audiences.
Your years of experience will help you provide advice and guidance to business partners, and to demonstrate a clear understanding of emerging business trends that tell TD Wealth's story in new and compelling ways.
You consistently demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to partner effectively across any organization.

Job Requirements

Skills for the job
8-10 years of experience in corporate communications or agency environment.
Exceptional writing and editing skills and a passion for speech writing, executive communications, new media and digital storytelling with the ability to reach the hearts and minds of any audience.
You are known for your critical thinking, common sense and good judgement when dealing with sensitive matters.
Strong interest in news, broader issues and trends affecting Canadians or the economy, combined with understanding of the financial services sector and the ability to creatively apply this to a senior leader's communication strategy and written/oral communications.
Ability to partner and collaborate with others, with a demonstrated ability to influence and help to align stakeholders on objectives.
You have a keen interest in social media, digital and visual content.
You are self-motivated and naturally inquisitive.
You have many examples where you show a desire to continuously improve and help to bring about change in your past roles and responsibilities.
You can deliver success independently on deadline but, as a team leader, you help colleagues and others across the bank achieve success collaboratively.
Post-secondary education, preferably a university degree.
Business Journalism experience an asset.
French language an asset.
