You will support the partners in the planning and implementation of transfer pricing and cross-border tax planning in our clients’ organizations. You will also contribute to a variety of client mandates, both ongoing and transactional. You're known for your curiosity, your desire to learn, your dynamism and your professionalism. The position can be based in either Toronto or Montreal.
A Day in the Life of…
Manage files from beginning to end with the support of a team;
Engagements will include preparation of transfer pricing documentation, planning international structures and appropriate transfer pricing models, financial analyses and client assistance in government audits;
Tax-treaty interpretation and application and integration in both Canadian and foreign domestic tax rules;
Supervise and train associates;
Research using publicly available and secondary data on various topics (e.g. industry and competitor information, economic studies);
Research using public company databases for benchmarking of financial information;
Financial analysis; identification of profit drivers and analysis of corporate financial information for comparability;
Direct contact with clients.
What are we looking for?
At least 5 years of experience in Cross Boarder Tax and/or Transfer Pricing, in a Firm or in industry, with some knowledge of Canadian and international corporate tax;
Post graduate degree in a related field, with emphasis in economics, finance or accounting.
Alternatively, CPA, CA; CPA, CMA or CFA designation.
Work experience in a relevant field is preferable including accounting experience.
Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Advance financial modeling skills are a plus.
Bilingual in both official languages is an asset, but not mandatory.
Strong understanding of accounting and economics concepts and strong research skills.
Creativity in using secondary data to perform research.
Interest to complete the CICA In-Depth Tax Course or a Master of Tax.
