Powerex Corp., the wholly owned energy marketing subsidiary of BC Hydro, currently has a Full-Time Permanent position for a Senior Reporting Analyst to join our Finance team. We are looking for an individual who can transform large granular datasets into insightful business concepts, to ‘tell the story’ by providing cutting edge data visualization and intuitive supporting data. The successful candidate, as part of the Management Reporting & Planning team, will be a subject matter expert that can provide support to more junior team members on reporting guidelines, timelines and data quality. In addition to day-to-day reports, the chosen individual should be able to execute on project work with limited guidance from management and be a self-starter that can anticipate future requests.

Responsibilities:

·Responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely completion of reports for both internal and external stakeholders

·Responsible for being a subject matter expert (SME) for all MRP reports and processes

·Investigate complex data and reporting questions from various groups within Powerex and provide clear and concise answers

·Creative thinker and problem solver. Ability to break down complex data into simple components and build high level solution to re-organize information.

·Support Junior Reporting Analysts and Reporting Analysts by answering questions, providing insight into core business functions/reporting workflows

·Collect, analyze and synthesize incomplete information from disparate sources into a clear and compelling story with limited guidance

·Create complex and comprehensive BI reporting packages and dashboards, perform data/business analysis using various internal data sources to support business drivers and financial results

·Lead projects within the MRP team, design potential solutions and work with IT, management and other team members to ensure a high level product is delivered on time and on budget.

·Provide detailed scenario analysis and proposed workflows for changes to existing processes, and summarizing findings into high level presentation format for business level stakeholders

·Document requirements and summarize information related to internal operational and business processes

·Understand reporting objectives and deliver insights and commentary that can inform and shape product design and development and business decision making.

Qualifications:

· 5+ years’ experience in data analytics and report management

· Advanced user of Excel and experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau

· Strong time management skills to accommodate stringent time deadlines in a fast-paced environment

·Excellent problem solving, critical and thinking and analytical skills

·Strong attention to detail, superior organizational skills

·Ability to manage multiple demands and competing priorities to ensure that deliverables are met consistently and on time

·Excellent verbal and written communications skills to promote cooperation and establish constructive and effective working relationships

·Creative thinker that can visualize the big picture and design a data product roadmap

·Experience in streamlining large volumes of data and ability to transform valuable information and key insights

·Proven record of creating insightful business reports
