Title: Stigma Project Manager

Reports to: Executive Director

Time Commitment: Full-time, Term contract ending 31 March 2020

Compensation: $30,000 - $35,000 annually for 37.5 hr/week

Language: English essential with bilingualism an asset

Vacation: Up to three weeks paid annual leave depending on hire date

Sick Days: 1.25 days earned per month worked full-time

Group Benefits: 50% Employer contribution Extended Medical Benefits

Retirement Benefits: 3.3% of the annual salary will be paid directly to the employee

Overview

AIDS New Brunswick has received project specific funding to reduce the barriers felt by people who use drugs when attempting to access health care services. This position is designed to work with both health care providers and people who use drugs to address and reduce these barriers via one-on-one conversations and delivery of workshops. The Stigma Project Manager (SPM) oversees the coordination and administration of this project including presentation coordination and delivery.

Experience

  • University degree in Social Sciences, Education, Public Health or equivalent experience
  • Language: proficiency in both official languages is highly desirable
  • Intermediate to advanced experience delivering presentations
  • Sensitivity to the impact and role of society in issues related to poverty, indigenous and multi-cultural experiences, sexuality and gender identification, addictions and health (the social determinants of health)
  • Working knowledge of relevant community resources
  • Experience in the non-profit sector
  • Experience in an office environment
  • Experience working independently
  • Must have valid driver’s license (class 5 or higher)
  • Willingness to travel throughout New Brunswick
