Our Kitchener district, has an immediate opening for an Route Supervisor to lead its team of Drivers. The Route Supervisor will have about 15 commercial and industrial drivers under their supervision and will oversee 13 routes across different LOB’s.

Position Summary:
Route Supervisor is responsible for managing all the Drivers on a daily basis. The Routes Supervisor ensures that operations are running safely by performing driver observations and monthly safety meetings. This role is a leadership position of our Collections business unit. The key responsibilities will be to ensure that safety, compliance, customer service, efficiency, productivity targets are met consistently. The Supervisor is also responsible for forecasting the labor budget for the month.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that Drivers completing daily safety and maintenance checks on VCR
Coordinates with Dispatcher to ensure deliveries, exchanges and repairs are completed in a timely manner
Plans and monitors employee schedules and route scheduling including regular communication throughout the day until all routes are completed.
Performance Management of employees through the progressive discipline process.
Conducts accident investigations including scene management, first accident report and final analysis with the root cause and preventative measures.
Maintaining adherence to company safety policies and DOT regulations.
Conducts field inspections and audits of all site personnel to ensure proper work procedures.
Receives and reviews customer complaints regarding collection programs, and works toward a resolution
Ensures set-up errors and missed pickups are reported and resolved.
Communicates and follows-up on customer service and / or site issues, vehicle repairs, and safety issues reported by drivers.
Visits customers and customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues, seeking service alternatives where appropriate.
Conducts Root Cause Investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent discipline and retraining.
Reviews weekly demands and volumes for routes, determines potential gains from re-routing and recommends re-routes to the Operations Manager.

3 or more years of managing in a people-driven environment
Knowledge of OSHA, CVSE, DOT, and MOE guidelines
Knowledge using Microsoft Office.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Must be detail-oriented, highly accountable and able to prioritize tasks.
Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 90 days.
