The Junior Accountant will assist with accounting and reporting duties for a large portfolio of residential properties. The ideal candidate will be accurate, attentive to detail, have good analytical and problem-solving skills and be willing to learn and take on more responsibility as they gain more experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop a good understanding of a real estate development company including: full cycle accounting, project costing, corporate structures and partnership accounting.

  • Distribute invoices for approval and process invoices for payment
  • Enter vendor commitments and reconcile commitments
  • Reconcile accounts payable to vendor statements
  • Bank deposits
  • Prepare GST returns
  • Update management changes to project costs and budgets
  • Reconcile bank, loan, holdback and inter-company accounts
  • Prepare monthly inter-company billings
  • Assist with various accounting duties
  • Assist with preparation of reports
  • Maintain hard copy and electronic filing systems
  • Reception relief
  • Other accounting duties as required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Fluent in English and Cantonese or Mandarin (both written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Detail and results oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Establish work priorities, multitask and balance demands in a dynamic environment
  • Proficient with computerized accounting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Education: Accounting Diploma/Degree or working towards a designation

Anticipated start date: as soon as possible
