Role and Responsibilities

To strengthen our team with the Fixed Wing Search & Rescue (FWSAR) Operational Training Unit (OTU) at 19 Wing Comox in Comox, BC we are looking for a Logistics Coordinator as follows. The target timeframe for interviewing candidates is late January 2020
Post Secondary education, preferably in electronics or aviation, and 5 years of related experience, or a combination of relevant experience and education
Customer-centric with experience and success providing customer service
Strong English communication skills (reading, writing and spoken)
Self-motivated individual who can work independently and also collaborate with other team members and customers
Attention to detail
Ability to travel and work shift/overtime when needed
Be able to obtain and hold both a Canadian Security Clearance (Level II NATO Secret) and a Controlled Goods Clearance
Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit
Organize and maintain the spare parts stock room; Store spares, consumables, tools in an orderly and accessible manner in the store
Prepare and process orders received; send items to various departments
Organize and maintain all Special Tools and Test Equipment (STTE)
Maintain classification systems and registers, collect information from various sources, maintain a current inventory of materials, and coordinate activities required to maintain spares and tool crib
Issue tools to students in accordance with DND tool control policies and procedures
Prepare orders to replenish tools, spares, consumables and accessories
Keep tools in good operating condition and make any necessary minor repairs
As part of maintenance team, assist with preventive and corrective maintenance (hardware and software), and operational support, as detailed in quality and maintenance documents, to achieve required availability and reliability on training devices
Assist in the analysis and resolving of software and hardware related issues
Support internal and external customers for modifications, updates, testing, maintenance and repair
Produce/update maintenance records in according with established practices & processes
Debug and troubleshoot complex problems spanning a wide range of technologies including, but not limited to: computer systems, networking, audio/video distribution, avionics systems
Available to take part in training sessions at other CAE Sites in Canada, if required
